The Music Settlement's first performance at the Bob Stop occurred on Sunday, February 23rd with two of the best jazz fans in attendance, Ron Busch and Anita Nonneman.  Performing on stage were students who receive scholarships from funds contributed from donors who were also in attendance.  Like every Music Settlement performance that I have attended, the music that their students play is nothing short of AMAZING.  It is one thing to appreciate and enjoy the melodies from a skilled performer who has been practicing their art for decades, but to hear a child perform with unbelievable musical skills is simply jaw dropping.

New York Life celebrated their annual awards and recognition dinner at the Beechmont Country Club in Beachwood Ohio on January 25.  Like the last two years, mother nature tossed in blizzard like conditions in Ohio.  A highlight video/slideshow has been created from photographs taken during the Awards Ceremony.    

It's that time of the year again and there's nothing better than remembering what it was like to rush home from school, eat a quick dinner, and then head to the ball park. I miss little league but watching these little kids enjoy what I did many years ago makes my day, any day of the week. The Old Brooklyn Area Little League, also known as OBALL, kicked off their opening day on Saturday May 18th, 2013 at Lowe Park.
